Part 23

Idyn sat down in the living room to collect his thoughts. He loved her and wanted to ask her to stay but her job meant she had to travel. He had no right to ask her to change her life for him. He didn’t even know how deep her feelings went.

Taki walked into the room. She sat down beside him. “Idyn, what’s going on?”

He looked up and met her gaze and once again the words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. “I don’t want you to go” he said. Damn.

But to his surprise she smiled “then I have good news.”

Idyn didn’t know what she was talking about and frowned.

“The company I’m working for currently offered me a permanent position today.”

Idyn eye brows shot up. Astounded he said “bull shit?’

“No” she said with a laugh.

“And you’re thinking about taking it?” he asked still trying to get it to sink in.

“That depends” she said.

“On what?”

“On you” she said “how do you feel about having me live here full time?”

Idyn grinned “are you kidding? I’d love that.”

“As it happens so would I. So do we still have a problem?”

“No” he said.

“Good” she said “now can we go back to bed?”

He laughed but a moment later his smile faded. Looking into her eyes he said “I love you Taki.”

She smiled. “I love you too” she said. “I have done for a long time.”

Idyn smiled as his heart swelled with emotion and getting to his feet he held out his hand to help her up. When she was on her feet he kissed her before leading her to the bedroom.
