Ten minutes later, arriving at the office block and wanting to make amends for not being quick enough to open the door for her at the apartment block, Idyn got out of the car and raced around to the other side. He thought he heard her say something as he got out but the door had already closed by the time he caught it so he continued around the car. He figured she would say it again when he got there. A polite smile on his face, he opened her door.
But his client did not smile back. Instead she glared at
him. “Get back in the car” she said and her tone did not encourage argument.
Idyn frowned but she just reached out and slammed the door
shut again before he could argue. Confused he walked back around the car and
got in the driver’s seat. He turned around to face her.
She was glaring at him “when you drop me off anywhere or
pick me up, do not open the door for me, in fact do not get out of the car. Got
it?” she spat.
“But…..” he began. Despite the first rule of business being
that the customer is always right, this went against the grain. Idyn prided
himself on the professional service his drivers offered, part of which was
opening door for their clients. He had never had a client argue about it
before.
“No buts” she said “if you don’t want me to complain to your
boss, you’ll do as I ask.”
Idyn’s eyes narrowed. He did not like threats, even though
in this case, it was meaningless. But she was his client. He couldn’t argue
with her. “If you put it that way, I guess I don’t have a choice” he said in a biting
tone.
“I’m glad we understand each other” she said and opening the
door she got out and slammed it shut with such force that it rocked the car.
Idyn was fuming. Who the hell did this woman think she was?
He was glad now that he hadn’t inflicted her on an employee. They would have
been faced with a tough choice of either following his instructions or hers. If
she continued to be this disagreeable he would tell her company where to stick
their job.
Oh wow she is a surprise.
