It seemed Taki was happy to talk now for which Idyn was very
grateful. The conversation while he drove allowed him to regain some composure.
“How come I don’t have a hangover?” she asked.
“Because you rehydrated and ate before you slept” he said
smiling at her in the mirror.
“How did you know to do that?”
“Experience” he said with his smile widening into a grin.
“I was dreading waking up this morning” she said but it
seemed like she was talking more to herself than him.
“You’re not a big drinker?” he asked.
“I try not to drink” she said.
It was a strange comment and Idyn could not help but wonder
about it. She hadn’t said that she tried not to drink too much or that she
didn’t drink at all. It almost sounded like she was not able to help herself.
But she did not present as an alcoholic. She had not been drunk in the previous
three weeks. So he wondered, what occurred on those occasions when she did drink?
What made her give in?
Minutes later he
pulled up outside her work place. “See you back here at five?” he said turning
around.
“Yes please” she said in a sweet, soft voice, her smile
blowing him away again as she gave him her full attention. Then before she got
out she touched the back of his neck and Idyn shivered. Once again he had to battle
his heated impulses. “See you then” she said and she slid out of the car.
Idyn released his
breath on a sigh. He was feeling so worked up after that one touch that he didn’t
know how he was going to get through the day. It felt like a life time hung
between that moment and five o’clock.
Things are getting interesting between them.
