Driver

Taki clung to Idyn for a few seconds and then released herself. “I haven’t told anyone before, about what happened” she said. “In some way it helps a little that you know. At least with you I don’t have to hide it.”

He gave her a sympathetic smile “good.”

For the rest of the week, each night Idyn would go up to Taki’s rented apartment with her and spend many enjoyable hours in her bed. But the limited time frame was weighing down on him and on Friday night, once their immediate appetite for each other had been satisfied Idyn said “you go home on Sunday yeah?”

“That’s the plan” she said. “My consultancy contract expired today.”

“Right” he said. He was sorry now that they had wasted so much time. He didn’t want her to go but it seemed too early in their relationship to be asking her to change her life for him. “You travel a lot” he said. It wasn’t a question, more him thinking out loud.

“All the time” she said “that’s the nature of my business.”

“Right” he said again, not knowing what else to say. She had given no indication that she wanted anything long term with him. She may not want anything beyond the time they had. That thought made his chest hurt. She had become that important to him. He looked away.

“In fact” she said as if he hadn’t spoken “I am scheduled to be back here again the week after next.”

Surprised Idyn looked up and met her gaze. Taki was grinning.

“Really?” he said.

“Really” she said “any chance you can find me a driver.”

“I’ll clear my calendar” he said.

She laughed. “You don’t have to drive me yourself” she said “you don’t even know how long I’m going to be here.”

“The longer the better” he said “and there is no way I’m giving up the chance to drive you around myself.”

Her grin shone out again “as it happens I’m here for two months next time and I’ll be very happy to have you drive me.”

“Only because I know not to get out and open the door for you” he teased.

“Well that’s definite bonus” she said with a grin “but I also like that I can do this” she added and leant over to kiss him.

“You don’t do that with all your driver’s?” he teased.

“Only the very special ones” she said before giving him another quick kiss.

He laughed “you could even sit up front next to me.”

“Now I don’t know about that” she said “that could be way too much of a temptation.

Idyn’s temperature shot up as he thought about what she was suggesting. “Good point” he said.

She laughed.
