To Amy it seemed like everything was happening in slow motion as she waited for the impact. She knew it would come because she had nowhere to go even if she had time to move. Her car was surrounded by other cars and if she got out she may have been worse off without the protection of her vehicle. In a split second she accepted the inevitable and taking a deep breath, braced herself. Closing her eyes, she prayed, something she hadn’t done since she was a kid, as the deafening sound of grinding metal closed in on her. She didn’t look. Keeping her eyes shut, she felt a peace settle within her just before everything went black.
