Going Home

Part 10

Looking at Grace Josh was grateful she was there. As he hoped, she had helped make everything clearer and he knew she was right, he needed to make a decision but he was too tired to think about it anymore tonight. So pushing his hand into her hair and pulling her towards him he kissed her head and said “thanks.”
Grace smiled “that’s okay. So what are you going to do?”

Moving back Josh groaned “I don’t know. I think I need to sleep on it. All I can think of at the moment is crawling into bed with you. I’ll worry about all this tomorrow.”

Grace smiled again glad he seemed calmer now. “Fair enough” she said. Then more than ready for bed herself she stood up and grabbed his hand to pull him to his feet “let’s go then, bed sounds good to me.”
Standing up and looking down at her Josh ran a finger gently down her cheek and smiled for the first time since his phone had rung “you don’t need to ask me twice.”

Ten minutes later Grace slid into bed beside Josh. As she reached out and turned out the light Josh wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her towards him, her back against his chest. Closing his eyes he kissed her hair and sighed, relaxing at last. She felt so good lying next to him. He knew her presence in his life was the only thing keeping him together and he needed her more than he ever had.

Feeling the strength of his hold on her Grace was aware that Josh was still troubled and hoped that tomorrow would bring some clarity. But for now she could offer him comfort and turning to face him she kissed him.

As Grace kissed him, Josh forgot everything that had happened and focused solely on the woman in his arms.
