When Jaya was done preparing dinner Walker still had not come back down so she
put it in the oven to keep it warm and after cleaning up she poured herself a
glass of water and sat down on a stool pulled up to the island to wait. While
she sipped her drink she pulled out her phone and went through her emails. She
answered those she needed to and filed those she had to keep. That done and
still no sign of Walker she brought up the news on the internet and caught up
on recent events.
She was half way through her second article when Walker
arrived. “Sorry” he said.
“No problem” she said with a smile “ready to eat?”
“I’m starved” he said “whatever you made, it smells
incredible.”
“Don’t expect too much” she said as she got up and opened
the oven to remove the plates. “I’m no chef.”
“It’s food, it’s hot, how bad can it be?”
“You obviously haven’t eaten in some of the places I have”
she said with a laugh as she set the two plates down on the bench.
“It looks good anyway” he said with a smile “thanks for
this.”
When they had finished eating and loaded the dish washer
Walker grabbed her hand and said “come with me.”
“Where are we going?”
“My room” he said.
Jaya frowned. She still felt a little weird about it.
He looked back at her and laughed “relax I just meant to
watch a movie.”
Embarrassed she gave him a small smile.
He smiled and kept walking “whatever happens other than that
is up to you.”
The room he led her into a few moments later was on the
ground floor. It was spacious and furnished like the rest of the house, with
taste. It contained a wide bed, two bed side tables and a chair. On the wall
facing the bed was a large flat screen tv.
Walker closed the door and sat down on the bed with his back
resting against the bed head and patted the spot next to him.
Wary, Jaya sat down next to him but didn’t touch him. Every
time they had been anywhere near a bed it had led to only one thing and she
wasn’t sure she was going to be able to help herself. However before she could
stop him Walker reached over and pulled her against his side. Kissing her head
he said “I couldn’t stop thinking about you today.”
His nearness undid all her best intentions. “Walker…” she
said.
“Hmmm” he said as his lips worked their way along her jaw.
“You said…..”
He lifted his head and gave her a wry smile “I know, a
movie” and he went to move away.
But that was not what Jaya had meant. She was beyond caution
now. “No” she said “you said what happened was up to me and I don’t want to
watch a movie.”
Walker stopped moving and after searching her eyes for a
minute a slow smile spread across his face. “Are you sure?” he said.
“No and if you don’t get over here I might change my mind”
she teased.
Walker grinned and wasted no time pinning her to the bed.
Once Walker was touching her Jaya forgot all about where
they were as she was carried away on a tide of heated sensation.
I like that moving beyond was her call
