The Locked Door

Part 20

When the heat of passion had passed Walker kissed her head and said “still weird?”
“If I think about it, yes.”
He grinned “then I’d better make sure you have no time to think” he teased as he rolled over to lie upon her. Leaning down he kissed her and for the next little while Jaya did indeed stop thinking.
“So are you staying?” Walker said a little later as he stroked her bare back.
“No” she said turning her head to smile at him to take the sting out of her refusal. “I don’t feel right about that at the moment.”
“Okay” he said “you’re call. Miller will be here tomorrow night so I’ll be able to stay with you.”
Jaya smiled “I’ll look forward to that” she said.
“Same here” he said leaning over to kiss her.

It was after eleven when Jaya got dressed ready to leave.  “I’m sorry I gave you a hard time about coming here. I’d love to meet your mother next time.”
He smiled “I’ll see you after work tomorrow.”
“See you then” she said and after a lingering kiss goodbye she headed back to her grandmother’s house.
The next day Jaya spent some time looking around the small town. It had been years since she had stayed there but her memory served her well. Without the benefit of a map she rediscovered many favourite spots and stumbled across a few new ones. On her way home she stopped in town to buy some groceries so she could make dinner. This time she chose to make something that would go in the oven that way she could prepare it before Walker arrived and it would be ready when they were ready to eat.
Once the dish was in the oven Jaya decided to have a bath and she had just got out and wrapped a robe around her when there was a knock on her door. With no make-up on and her hair tied up Jaya went to answer the knock, a smile already on her face.
“Hi” she said to Walker as she swung the door open.
His eyes darkened and his smile widened as he took in her appearance. “You look nice” he said stepping inside and closing the door.
Jaya laughed “I’m wearing a robe” she scoffed.
“With nothing underneath it I’m hoping” he said as his eyes moved over her.
She grinned and her hands dropped to the tied cord around her waist. As she held his gaze she pulled the cord until the knot came undone. With the cord no longer tied the robe swung open giving Walker a view of what lay underneath. “That answer your question?” she said.
“Mmmm” he said stepping closer “I like that answer” and dropping his head to kiss her he picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.
